Located minutes away from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Pigeon Forge offers some of the most breathtaking scenery in the United States. To help you make the most of your next vacation, here is a helpful guide to places where you’ll find the best views in Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains.

The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel

Island in Pigeon Forge at night

The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel at The Island has quickly become one of Pigeon Forge’s iconic landmarks. This 200-foot Ferris wheel provides stunning views of the city of Pigeon Forge and the national park beyond, and it features climate-controlled all-glass gondolas that can seat up to eight guests. If you’re spending a romantic cabin getaway with your sweetheart, we suggest visiting the Ferris Wheel at night so you can see Pigeon Forge’s twinkling lights from high in the sky.

Off-Roading Rides & Tours

The ATV rides at Bluff Mountain Adventures also offer some of the very best views in Pigeon Forge. You’ll get to explore 6,000 acres of pristine wilderness in the foothills of the Smokies with an experienced guide. It’s a fantastic way to enjoy the beautiful views while also getting an adrenaline rush!

Another place for off-roading tours is WildSide in Pigeon Forge, with over 18 miles of trails on 900+ acres of mountain terrain. Instead of a guided tour, you can take the ATV, UTV, or mountain bike out and explore on your own (rentals are available onsite).

Smoky Mountain Ziplines

For more exhilarating fun and gorgeous views, take a canopy tour with Smoky Mountain Ziplines. Less than 2 miles from the Parkway, Smoky Mountain Ziplines features 7 different lines spanning 4,200 feet of cable. You’ll be able to take in spectacular views of the mountains and the forest below from 150 feet in the air. No strenuous walk to the starting point either– their large truck transport vehicles whisk you to and from the “base camp,” so all you have to do is prepare to soar!

Newfound Gap Road

Stretching from Sevier County, TN, to Cherokee, NC, this popular road cuts through the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and is easily one of the best scenic drives. As you make your way along Newfound Gap Road, you’ll pass incredible mountain views and an amazing variety of forest ecosystems. The road to Kuwohi is located off of Newfound Gap Road, so you can easily visit both destinations in one trip.

Kuwohi

kuwohi

Arguably, one of the best places for scenic views in the Smoky Mountains is Kuwohi. Standing at 6,643 feet tall, the Kuwohi Observation Tower is the highest point in the state of Tennessee and the highest point along the entire Appalachian Trail. When you visit this famous spot in the national park, you’ll be amazed by the unparalleled vistas; on a clear day, the views can extend for over 100 miles!

To reach the observation tower, visitors must complete a half-mile hike up a paved walkway that is quite steep. Be sure to dress warmly (even in the summer) because the observation tower is often 10 to 20 degrees colder than the lower elevations of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Your Smoky Mountain Cabin Rental
