Every year, the Spring Rod Run in Pigeon Forge takes over the Parkway, with hundreds of classic cars in every color imaginable. History of Rod Runs in the Smoky Mountains

These car shows began back in the 1970s, an unofficial car club hosting and calling it “Shades of the Past”. Later on, in the 80s, the annual event was moved to the Grand Hotel in Pigeon Forge and renamed “The Grand Run”. Now, the bi-annual Pigeon Forge Rod Runs take place in the spring and fall, usually April and September, at the LeConteCenter, with several more smaller events throughout the year.

What to Expect at the Spring Rod Run in Pigeon Forge

So, what makes the Spring Rod Run in Pigeon Forge such a big deal? Well, for starters, this 3-day event features the top 25 awards, as well as 7 ultimate awards, plus a big cash giveaway! In addition, this massive swap meet brings hundreds of vintage and antique hot rods and their owners together, and car lovers from all over come to talk shop and admire the beautiful cars.

Location & Ticket Information

The LeConte Center and surrounding streets are filled to the brim with car collectors showing off their prized beauties. Shuttle services are available, and there is plenty of free parking at the center itself, which is located on Teaster Lane right next to The Island. The Mountain Mile entertainment complex is also nearby, just up the road! With lots of family-friendly activities, delicious restaurants, and cool shops, this area of Pigeon Forge is bursting with unique things to do!

  • Hours: 9 AM to 6 PM (Thursday & Friday)
  • Saturday Hours: 9 AM to 5 PM (awards ceremony begins at 5 PM)
  • Admission is $15 per day per person.
  • A 3-day pass is available for $35 per person
  • Tickets are sold on-site. No advance ticket sales!
  • Tickets can be purchased with cash only. Two ATMs are on-site.
